When a disk is format, it burn the files system once the file system is ready, it receives the data/files.
How does the file system creates?
When a disk is formatted [1st] tracks will be created, though the disk is in a concentric circular tracks, those tracks will be equally divided into sector [2nd], each sector has a capacity of 512 Bytes, as the data in creates, then the cluster [3rd] will come into existence, a cluster is a group of 4 sectors, it is an administrator invention with large allocation unit.
The files system is an interface between the drives and the operating system, when the a user ask the user software such as word, excel, power point, tally, auto cad etc. To read data from the hard disk, but it could not able to read, then it take the help of the operating system, then the operating system asks the support of the file system, because only the files system knows where exactly the data has been stored or retrieved it searches the relevant sector and delivers the data to the operating system.
